James has now amalgamated his instrumental 'Mythology'
Album with his original blues album
'Small Mercies' into a quartet called 'Blues
Mythology'
His band does a combination
of both vocal and instrumental. James's on guitar is like Eric Johnson
meets SRV.
with well known singer Marc Johnson
James recently performed
at the The Coach House and Galaxy. He was asked to open for Steve Hacket(Genesis)
and recently played in a guitar extravaganza with Gary Hoey and Chris
Poland which was a great success. He played at a wrap party for Lou Gossard
Jr' who would not have anyone else play for him but M. Grant'. He has
played many of the top west coast music festivals, and has also won awards
for his song 'jade'(Track 8) aired on CFOX Radio. His Song 'Patong Beach'(track10)

"Every now and then a CD comes out that from the first few chords,
to the end of the last cut,
the sound comming out of the speakers grabs you by both ears and doesn't
let go.
That's the case of the CD "Mythology" by James Grant. From the
dazzling fretwork to the mastery of
the finished product, this man is the complete package."
THE OC REGISTER WROTE:
By Robert Kinsler: The OC Register
James Grant "Mythology"(independent) - James Grant's latest
CD, "Mythology," is filled with technically
perfect guitar work in the spirit of the '80s and '90s efforts by Joe
Satriani. However, to draw simple comparisons
with that pioneering player's approach would not paint a complete picture.
Grant has the soul of a
bluesman, notably on "Rainmaker" and "Oasis," on which
the guitarist's work recalls Gary Moore's fretwork
on "Still Got the Blues." Irvine-based Grant plays with incredible
skill, wrapping expressive solos in textured
arrangements that blend elements of progressive rock, modern jazz and
electric blues. You might like

L.A ROCK CITY NEWS
Gary Hoey, OHM and James Grant Rock the Coach House By Revn Kevin
Starting the initial musical volley tonight was the James Grant Band.
James and his band played a great set
of trippy, trance rock in the style of older Pink Floyd. James is also
a phenomenal guitarist with a bluesy feel
and knows how to play notes for effect - not speed. It's not how many
notes in a bar but how many of them
grab you. Playing tracks off of his "Mythology" CD they seemed
to lead into each other and made for a very
warm feeling set. To find out more about the James Grant Band go visit
